Speaker Biography
Wang Ting received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool in December 2013. In September 2016, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and Systems, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University. In the same month, he joined the School of Journalism and Communication at Shanghai International Studies University. In 2018, he was recognized as a Leading Talent in Science and Technology by Jiaxing City. Since 2019, he has served as the Director of the Haina Cognition and Intelligence Research Center at the Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang.

How to detect hallucinations and misinformation potentially generated by AIGC is currently a focal point of interest in both academia and industry. This lecture will begin with the topic of rumor control, discussing the methods and challenges of managing disinformation in the AI era. It will reflect on humanity's sense of helplessness, frustration, and lack of results in this domain, and finally offer some suggestions for young people interested in pursuing research in this field.
