Baosteel Outstanding Teacher

Jiang Xiaoming
Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Institute of Language Sciences, Shanghai International Studies University
Professor Jiang Xiaoming serves as a member of the Psycholinguistics Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society and a council member of the Neurolinguistics Research Society under the Chinese Association for Modernization of the Chinese Language. He is Associate Editor of Bibliography of Pragmatics Online, Guest Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology (Language Section), and a member of the editorial boards of Psychological Science and Brain Sciences. He has long been engaged in teaching, research, and talent development in the fields of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics.
The Psycholinguistics course he developed has been recognized as a Shanghai First-Class Undergraduate Course and a Shanghai Key Undergraduate Course. As a core member of the Huang Danian-style Faculty Team, he participated in the development of teaching innovations that received the First Prize for Outstanding Teaching Achievement in Shanghai. He has personally received honors including the Three-Whole Education Advanced Individual Award and the Outstanding Teaching Award from Shanghai International Studies University. He has supervised undergraduate students who have published first-author papers in SSCI journal Behavioral Research Methods and SCI journal NeuroImage. He has led student teams selected for the Ministry of Education's Rural Outreach initiative to promote language education for rural revitalization. Student projects under his guidance have received awards in Shanghai's Zhixing Cup Social Practice Competition and the Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, for which he has been named Outstanding Advisor multiple times.
He has led major research projects including General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, General Projects of the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, research projects of the National Language Commission, projects of the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Planning Program, and Ministry of Education Industry-Academia Collaborative Education Program projects. He has published over 80 research papers in SCI/SSCI/CSSCI-indexed journals and authored six interdisciplinary works in linguistics and one translation. He has been consecutively recognized as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier, selected for the National High-Level Talent Program (Youth Top Talent Program), and his research has received the Best Paper Award from Speech Communication, jointly presented by the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP).

Baosteel Outstanding Student

Kong Lingda
Ph.D. Candidate, Class of 2022, Institute of Language Sciences, Shanghai International Studies University
Kong Lingda is a doctoral candidate in the class of 2022 at the Institute of Language Sciences, where he studies under the supervision of Professor Jiang Yong and Professor Jiang Xiaoming. His research focuses on semantics, pragmatics, and neurolinguistics. He has achieved a series of accomplishments in the cognitive neural mechanisms of language, publishing four papers as first author in SSCI/SCI and CSSCI core journals, with a total of eight academic papers in journals including Languages, Journal of Neurolinguistics, and Journal of Foreign Languages. He also holds two software copyrights. His research areas include Chinese polarity sensitivity, the processing of negative constructions, and the neural mechanisms of language cognition. He has led several university- and institute-level research projects, all of which received excellent evaluations upon completion, and has participated as a team member in a Youth Project of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Program.
He has presented at six high-level academic conferences domestically and internationally, actively promoting interdisciplinary integration in language cognition research. He has received honors including the National Scholarship for Doctoral Students, and was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate and Outstanding Student Leader at Shanghai International Studies University. As Party Branch Secretary for the Institute's graduate students, he has organized and participated in thematic events such as visits to the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor and online knowledge competitions on the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He led his branch to win a university-level One Group, One Brand award and represented the university in the central selection process for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' International Organization Talent Program, demonstrating strong political commitment and outstanding organizational ability. As captain of the Institute's men's basketball team, he led the team to its first-ever appearance in the top eight of the SISU President's Cup basketball tournament, exemplifying comprehensive personal development and a positive, enterprising spirit.
