Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), founded in December 1949, is a prestigious institution of higher education in foreign studies that shares the same founding year as the People's Republic of China. The Institute of Language Sciences at Shanghai International Studies University is a research and teaching institution that integrates language science research, talent cultivation at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, and the development of language science and technology products. The Institute hosts two discipline innovation bases (111 Centers) accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It is also home to the first research base of the National Language Commission and a key think tank for national language planning and research: the National Research Centre for Foreign Language Strategies. Additionally, the Institute oversees the operation of the SISU National Language Promotion Base. The Institute focuses on language science research, with primary research areas encompassing the study of language development and patterns of change, as well as the cognitive processing mechanisms of language. While leveraging its strengths in sociolinguistics and language education, the Institute advances research in theoretical linguistics and applied linguistics, conducts cutting-edge investigations in language data science and neurocognitive linguistics, develops language science and technology products, and cultivates high-level talent in language science.

We are now recruiting one administrative staff member, and welcome qualified candidates to apply.

I. Basic Requirements

  1. Comply with the Constitution and laws, and adhere to the university's rules and regulations;

  2. Hold a bachelor's degree or above;

  3. Possess experience in corpus construction and application, be familiar with the procedures and techniques of corpus development, and be proficient in using relevant software for corpus processing and annotation;

  4. Demonstrate certain capabilities in product visual design, able to independently handle the layout design and visual enhancement of product manuals and promotional materials;

  5. Be in good physical condition suitable for the position;

  6. Be passionate about education and aspire to engage in administrative management in higher education.

II. Responsibilities

  1. Corpus Processing and Annotation: Perform corpus processing and annotation according to project requirements to develop high-quality corpora;

  2. Corpus Project Management: Manage corpus construction projects and provide training;

  3. Product Design: Utilize product design skills to contribute to the layout design and visual enhancement of corpus platforms and related promotional materials;

  4. Complete other tasks assigned by the leadership.

Candidates with prior experience in corpus construction, corpus project management, and visual design will be given preference.

III. Position Nature and Compensation

  1. The position is a personnel dispatch arrangement;

  2. Salary and benefits will be determined through negotiation.

IV. Recruitment Process

The recruitment process consists of qualification review, interview, internship, and political and ideological assessment.

  1. Candidates are required to complete an internship based on actual circumstances;

  2. Political and ideological assessment includes but is not limited to political integrity, moral character, and professional identity;

  3. Upon confirmation of the final candidate, the selected individual will sign a contract with the dispatch agency.
